Tupelo Community Theatre Announces Auditions for ‘Seussical Jr.’
Tupelo Community Theatre announced auditions for its summer youth production of “Seussical Jr.” The musical, set in the world of Dr. Seuss, follows Horton the Elephant as he protects the Whos of Whoville, emphasizing the message that “a person’s a person, no matter how small,” according to the theater.
Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m. and Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m. They will be held at the theater’s Off Broadway location, 213 E. Franklin Street. The auditions will include a script reading and individual singing, with no prior preparation needed, officials said.
Participants must commit to full attendance during the week of performances, June 18-20, and the week prior. The production is open to students entering fourth grade through graduating seniors. For more information, contact director Thomas Roper at troperseussicaljr@gmail.com.
“Seussical Jr.” promises a joyful celebration of friendship, loyalty, and finding your voice, officials added. The theater encourages young people to think big and dream loud this summer on stage.
