Leigh Anne Newton, director of a local organization, delivered a donation of peanut butter to the mayor’s office Wednesday. The donation is part of an effort to fill local food pantries, according to Newton.
Newton said the organization has been collecting peanut butter to support community food programs. She expressed enthusiasm for helping the community whenever possible.
The food drive aims to assist residents in need and strengthen community support networks, Newton added.
