Niki Soderstrom, who plays Tessy Mahoney in the upcoming production of Beth Henley’s ‘The Miss Firecracker Contest,’ is a native of Mooreville. She has worked as a nurse for the past 12 years and is also a proud wife and dog mom to five pets, according to a release from the theater.
Soderstrom’s last appearance on stage was in the summer of 2009 with the Tupelo Community Theatre (TCT). She said theatre has a special place in her heart and that she met her husband while performing with Pied Piper Players and TCT Summer Youth Theatre as a child.
The show is directed by Bobby Geno and sponsored by Meredith Martin of TM Realtors. It runs March 19-21 at the Lyric Theatre, located at 201 N. Broadway. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets and more information are available at www.tctlyric.com, according to the theater.
