Plantersville Man Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle

A Plantersville man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while walking down Cliff Gookin Blvd on Sunday evening.

The accident occurred around 5:30 pm near Mike’s Bar and Grill. Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green said 53-year-old Curtis Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, according to Tupelo Police, and no criminal intent was found. The accident remains under investigation.
