Tupelo Community Theatre announces auditions for ‘Savannah Sipping Society’
Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for the comedy ‘Savannah Sipping Society’ on March 30 and 31 at 6 p.m. Both nights are open to interested actors. The auditions will be held at the Theatre On Broadway, located at 213 East Franklin Street. No preparation is necessary; participants are encouraged to come ready to have fun, according to theatre officials.
The play, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, is a Southern comedy that follows four women who meet in Savannah, Georgia. The characters—Randa, Dot, Marlafaye, and Jinx—find themselves at life’s crossroads and decide to support one another through laughter and friendship. The production is scheduled for May 28, 29, and 30 at the Theatre On Broadway.
The characters include Randa, a 49-year-old architect facing career setbacks; Dot, a 69-year-old recently widowed woman; Marlafaye, a 57-year-old Texan navigating a divorce; and Jinx, a bubbly, quirky woman who brings the group together. The play celebrates friendship and second chances with humor and heart, officials said.
