Tupelo Community Theatre has announced auditions for the comedy ‘Savannah Sipping Society’ by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. Auditions will take place March 30 and 31 at 6 p.m. at the Tupelo Opera House, located at 213 East Franklin. No preparation is necessary; participants are encouraged to show up ready to have fun, according to theatre officials.

Director Tom Brown will oversee the production, scheduled for May 28-30 at the Tupelo Opera House. The play is a Southern comedy about four women—Randa, Dot, Marlafaye, and Jinx—who meet in Savannah, Georgia, and decide to support each other through life’s surprises. The story explores themes of friendship, reinvention, and embracing new chapters in life.

The characters include Randa, a 49-year-old architect facing a career stall; Dot, a 69-year-old recently widowed woman; Marlafaye, a 57-year-old Texan in the midst of a divorce; and Jinx, a bubbly, quirky woman who brings the group together, according to production notes.

Interested participants are encouraged to join the fun and be part of this heartfelt and humorous celebration of friendship and second chances.
