Tupelo Community Theatre Holds Auditions for ‘Seussical JR.’

Tupelo Community Theatre has announced auditions for its summer youth production of “Seussical JR.” The musical is set in the world of Dr. Seuss and follows Horton the Elephant as he protects the Whos of Whoville. The show emphasizes themes of friendship, loyalty, and finding one’s voice, and features characters such as the Cat in the Hat, JoJo, Gertrude McFuzz, and Mayzie La Bird.

Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m., and Sunday, April 19, at 2 p.m. They will be held at the TCT Off Broadway location, 213 E. Franklin Street. No advance preparation is necessary, and auditions will include script reading and individual singing.

Participants must commit to full attendance during the week of performances, June 18-20, and the week prior. The production is open to students from rising fourth graders through graduating seniors. For more information, contact director Thomas Roper at troperseussicaljr@gmail.com.

The theater encourages young performers to dream big and participate in the upcoming summer production.
