Tupelo launches new community cleanup event this spring

For the past ten years, volunteers in Tupelo have contributed to making the city cleaner and more attractive through the Time for Tupelo initiative, according to organizers.

Participants have picked up litter, planted flowers, and supported community members, said event representatives. They expressed gratitude for the community’s ongoing support and efforts.

The city is now planning a new community-wide cleanup event set for April 11. Four dumpsters will be placed around Tupelo to facilitate litter removal, neighborhood sprucing, yard debris disposal, and neighborly assistance, organizers announced.

Residents are encouraged to join the effort and help the city shine. The organizers also asked the community to vote on a name for the new event, with options including “The Great Tupelo Cleanup,” “Clean It Up, Tupelo!” and “Tupelo’s Spring Clean.” Voting is open via comments or surveys, organizers said.
