Tupelo man arrested after drug and firearm seizure during traffic stop
Tupelo police arrested a Saltillo man following a traffic stop and search warrant that yielded drugs, firearms, and cash, according to authorities.
On Feb. 10, agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit stopped a 2022 Ford Bronco on North Gloster Street for an equipment violation. During the stop, they developed probable cause to search the vehicle, where they found about one pound of marijuana and several doses of hydrocodone, police said.
Later that day, agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Mandi Drive in Saltillo. They reportedly found more than 15 pounds of marijuana, additional hydrocodone, two firearms, and nearly $77,000 in cash.
Octavious Nathaniel Coleman, 38, of Saltillo, was taken into custody and charged with felony trafficking of marijuana and felony possession of hydrocodone. Lee County Justice Court Judge Marilyn Reed denied bond, citing Coleman’s prior felony bond status at the time of his arrest.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional charges may be filed in the future.
