Tupelo man charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine

Police in Tupelo arrested a Baldwyn man on felony drug charges after a traffic stop on Feb. 1. Officers with the Tupelo Police Department’s Special Operations Group and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit conducted the stop for a traffic violation, authorities said.

During the stop, officers found probable cause to search the vehicle. They discovered drug paraphernalia in the possession of the front seat passenger, Clifton J. Donald, 33. The officers also found a large amount of methamphetamine on Donald’s person, according to police.

Donald was taken into custody and charged with felony trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen set bond at $200,000. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, police said.
