Tupelo woman charged with residential burglary

Authorities arrested a Tupelo woman in connection with a burglary reported on Boggan Drive in January.

On Jan. 8, officers responded to the scene after the property owner reported that an acquaintance had forced entry and stolen an item. The investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old Alexus I. Sykes on March 19.

Sykes was charged with one count of burglary of a dwelling. On March 20, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered her held on a $5,000 bond. The case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, according to authorities.
