Firefighters confirmed they have contained a gas leak near 401 N. Gloster Street. Crews from the gas company are working to permanently repair damage to the pipe, according to authorities.
The leak was located between Leake Street and Blair Street. Due to wind conditions, the Tyler Fire Department asked some homes and businesses in the Blair and Allen Street area to evaluate their safety.
The leak involves a main service line, and repairs are expected to take several hours. Once the leak is stopped, residents will be able to return to their homes. The fire department will remain on scene to monitor the situation and ensure public safety.
