Tupelo Community Theatre to Premiere Original Play ‘Lookin’

Liz Autry will reprise her role as Joan in the upcoming production of ‘Lookin’,’ at Tupelo Community Theatre. Autry, who previously performed in ‘Women Playing Hamlet’ at the same venue, expressed excitement about returning to the stage and reconnecting with fellow cast members.

Autry credited choreographer Maddie for encouraging her to relive her dancing days and thanked her family for supporting her theatrical pursuits. The production marks a reunion for Autry and other familiar faces, along with some new cast members.

‘Lookin’ is an original work by local playwright and TCT member Mariah Wooten,’ the theater said. The company will present a preview performance on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m., with tickets costing $25. The event will take place at Tupelo Community Theatre.

All proceeds from the performance will go toward funding TCT’s participation in the MTA Theatre Festival in Oxford, where ‘Lookin” will represent the theater and compete against productions from across Mississippi.
