Bond Set for Receiving Stolen Property and Chop Shop Charges
On 07-19-2022 Tupelo Police conducted a traffic stop on a gray Dodge Charger Hell Cat in the are of Varsity and President for a misdemeanor traffic infraction. The driver, Jacammeric Tyquan Smith (24 y/o male, Tupelo, MS) was cited for the no tag and arrested for possession of marijuana. The investigation revealed that the vehicle’s VIN numbers had been altered.
After further investigation Smith was charged with one count of Felony Receiving Stolen Property and one count of Felony Motor Vehicle Chop Shop Act Violation.
On 07-21-2022 Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set bond at $125,000 for those felony charges. This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
