Auditions set for Savannah Sipping Society comedy in Tupelo

Auditions for the comedy Savannah Sipping Society will be held March 31 at 6 p.m. at Tupelo Community Theatre, located in room 213 at East Franklin. No preparation is required; actors are encouraged to show up and have fun, according to organizers.

Directed by Tom Brown, the production is scheduled to run May 28, 29, and 30 at TCT. The play, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, follows four women who meet in Savannah, Georgia, and bond over shared life transitions. The story is described as both humorous and heartfelt, emphasizing friendship and reinvention.

Characters include Randa, a 49-year-old architect facing career setbacks; Dot, a 69-year-old recently widowed woman; Marlafaye, a 57-year-old Texan going through a divorce; and Jinx, a lively and quirky woman who brings the group together.
