Man arrested in Tupelo on drug trafficking charges after traffic stop and search
Authorities in Tupelo arrested a man on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop and search of his residence. On March 5, agents from the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit stopped a black Ford F-150 on South Eason Boulevard.
The driver, identified as Anthony Dixon, was searched after officers established probable cause. They found a felony amount of cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle, according to sources.
A search warrant was later executed at Dixon’s home on Pierce Street. Authorities recovered more than 1.5 pounds of cocaine, one pound of marijuana, and over $175,000 in cash, officials said.
Anthony Dixon, 46, of Tupelo, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine. He was held without bond by Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible, authorities added.
