Tupelo opens all city storm shelters amid severe weather

All of the city of Tupelo’s large and small storm shelters are now open, according to city officials. The shelters are available as a precaution during severe weather conditions.

The city’s large storm shelters are located at Theron Nichols Park and Lee Acres. The list does not include shelters operated by the Tupelo Public School District, which are at Tupelo High School, Carver, Joyner, and Thomas Street.

Residents are advised to use these shelters for safety during storms and to stay tuned to local weather updates for further instructions.
