Tupelo Police Make 27 Gun-Related Arrests in Past Year

The Tupelo Police Department has made 27 arrests related to gun crimes over the past year, including homicides, aggravated assaults, shootings into homes and vehicles, discharging firearms within city limits, and armed robberies, according to a department spokesperson.

Authorities reported arrests in both gun-related homicides during this period. There have been 10 aggravated assaults involving firearms, with arrests made in eight cases. In the last six months, the department achieved a 100% arrest rate for aggravated assaults involving guns.

The department issued a warning to anyone considering using a firearm to commit a crime in Tupelo. “If you choose to use a firearm to commit a crime in our city, we will find you, and you will be arrested,” officials stated.

Mugshots of several individuals arrested for violent gun-related crimes over the past year were included in the department’s release. Authorities emphasized that both the victims and the department remain committed to addressing gun violence and maintaining community safety.
