Bond Set for Felony Fleeing

On 01-29-2023 at approximately 1:00 am Tupelo Police stopped a white Dodge Charger on West Jackson Street for a traffic offense. The driver spoke with the officer briefly then fled in the vehicle. A police pursuit was initiated. The suspect continued to flee and the pursuit was terminated due to weather and officers having identifying information. A preliminary investigation led officers to suspect Torrean Albert (20 y/o male, Belden) of being the driver.

On 01-30-2023 Albert turned himself in to TPD and was charged with felony fleeing.

On 01-31-2023 Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set bond at $5,000. This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
