Okolona Man Hit by Train in Verona

A man was struck by a train near Verona on Monday morning. Police Chief Marsenio Nunn said the victim, who is from Okolona, was walking on the tracks when he was struck.

Thankfully, the man survived and is hospitalized with a broken arm.

Walking on railroad tracks is illegal and is considered trespassing. No word on if the victim will face charges later.
