Lee County SO investigation leads to sentence of mother for allowing continued sexual abuse of children
BOONEVILLE, MS
A pair were sentenced on Friday for crimes related to sexual abuse of a pair of children, including the childrens mother. Below is the release from District Attorney John Waddles’s office.
On September 24, 2021, Elizabeth Naomi Taylor, age 37, entered pleas of guilty to multiple counts of child neglect for permitting the continuing sexual abuse of her 2 children by co-defendant Jamey Burrage.
Judge John White sentenced Taylor to serve 9 years mandatory with a total of 31 years suspended.
She will be required to register as a sex offender and has been prohibited from having any future contact with the victims in these cases. She also agreed to testify against co-defendant Jamey Burrage in the event Burrage goes to trial.
On September 27, 2021, Jamey Paul Burrage, age 41, entered pleas of guilty to multiple sexual Battery offenses.
Judge Paul Funderburk sentenced Burrage to serve 28 years mandatory with a total of 84 years suspended. Burrage will be required to register as a sex offender.
Burrage is also facing 13 additional charges in the State of Georgia.
The cases were investigated by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department and the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department.
