Meet the crew of The Miss Firecracker Contest: Laura Orsborn, assistant director

Laura Orsborn is serving as assistant director for The Miss Firecracker Contest, which runs March 19-21 at the Lyric Theatre in Kansas City. She previously worked as both assistant director and stage manager for Almost, Maine in January, and is excited to take on her current role.

Orsborn enjoys the behind-the-scenes aspects of theater, noting that she thrives on rehearsals, sharing laughs with cast members, and watching characters develop from early read-throughs to fully realized performances. She said the cast’s enthusiasm and collaborative spirit make this production especially rewarding.

The upcoming show is directed by Bobby Geno and sponsored by Meredith Martin of TM Realtors. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a matinee at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The event is promoted by Matt Wyatt Media.
