North Mississippi cities collect peanut butter for food drive

Several cities in north Mississippi are participating in the March of the Mayors food drive by collecting 16-ounce jars of peanut butter. Donations can be dropped off at five locations, including City Hall, the Tupelo Police Department, Fire Station No. 1, the Tupelo Water and Light Collections Office, and the Parks and Recreation main office at Ballard Park, according to organizers.

Participating cities include Gulfport, Cleveland, Jackson, Tupelo, Sherman, Hattiesburg, McComb, and Prentiss. The campaign aims to support Mississippi’s largest food box packing event, with residents encouraged to contribute and help feed neighbors in need.

Organizers also promoted the effort on social media with hashtags like #mardigras and #feedyourneighbors. Additional information is available at ExtraTable.org/march, the organization behind the drive.
