Liz Autry is making her debut as assistant director for TCT’s production of “The Woman in Black.” She expressed enthusiasm about working alongside her friend, director Denise Truscott, on the chilling show.
Autry has been involved in several TCT productions over the past year, including “Women Playing Hamlet,” “Almost Maine,” “Lookin’,” “The Miss Firecracker Contest,” and “Young Frankenstein.” By day, she teaches literature and writing to teenagers. In her free time, she spends time with her dogs, Evie and Watson, and supports her husband, Eric, as she rediscovers her interests after raising two college-aged sons.
Though not a fan of horror herself, Autry said helping create the show has been a fun experience. “May you be haunted in all the best ways,” she said, referencing the production’s eerie theme.
The play runs from October 1 to 3 at TCT Off-Broadway, located at 213 E. Franklin St., behind the arena. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., with matinees at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults. For more information, visit www.tctlyric.com.
