Tupelo Collects Peanut Butter to Support North Mississippi Families
The City of Tupelo is collecting 16-ounce jars of peanut butter as part of the March of the Mayors campaign, according to the mayor’s office. Donations can be dropped off at several locations, including City Hall, the police department, fire station No. 1, the water and light collections office, and the parks and recreation main office at Ballard Park.
Every jar of peanut butter makes a difference, officials said. The campaign is part of Mississippi’s Largest Food Box Packing Party, which involves multiple cities including Gulfport, Cleveland, Jackson, Tupelo, Sherman, Hattiesburg, McComb, and Prentiss.
Residents are encouraged to add jars to their shopping carts, bring them to designated drop-off points, and help feed neighbors in need. More information is available at ExtraTable.org/march, according to the mayor’s office.
