Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions Nov. 8 and 9 for “Eleemosynary,” its entry in the Mississippi Theatre Association competition.
Auditions are scheduled for 2 p.m. Nov. 8 or 6 p.m. Nov. 9 at TCT Off Broadway, 213 E. Franklin St. Callbacks will be held by invitation at 6 p.m. Nov. 12, the theater said.
The production is seeking three women to play Dorothea, a character in her 50s; Artie, in her 30s; and Echo, a teenager. The theater said the age ranges may be adjusted. Auditioning actors should prepare all selections provided for their age range and perform as a character, using voice, body language and emotion.
The play follows a grandmother, her estranged daughter and her teenage granddaughter as they confront family choices and try to reconnect, according to the theater.
The competition show is scheduled to travel to Meridian Jan. 15-18. People seeking more information or the tentative rehearsal calendar can contact director Allana Austin at Easilyamused75@hotmail.com or 662-401-4048.
