Tupelo Community Theatre to Hold Auditions for ‘Savannah Sipping Society’

Tupelo Community Theatre will hold auditions for the comedy ‘Savannah Sipping Society’ on March 30 and 31 at 6 p.m. at the theater, located at 213 East Franklin. No preparation is required; actors are encouraged to simply show up and have fun, according to theatre officials.

The play, written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, is scheduled for production on May 28, 29, and 30. Director Tom Brown will oversee the performances. Interested participants can contact the theatre via email at tupelotom@gmail.com.

‘Savannah Sipping Society’ is a Southern comedy about four women—Randa, Dot, Marlafaye, and Jinx—who meet in Savannah, Georgia, and decide to support each other through life’s surprises. The story explores friendship, reinvention, and embracing new chapters in life, and is described as both touching and humorous.

The characters include Randa, a 49-year-old architect whose career has stalled; Dot, a 69-year-old widow adjusting to a new life; Marlafaye, a 57-year-old fiery Texan going through a divorce; and Jinx, a bubbly, quirky woman who brings the group together. The play promises a lively celebration of friendship and second chances.
