Tupelo Police Focus on Gun Crime Enforcement

The Tupelo Police Department has made 27 arrests related to gun crimes over the past 12 months, including homicides, assaults, shootings into dwellings and vehicles, discharging firearms within city limits, and armed robberies, according to department officials.

Authorities confirmed arrests were made in connection with both gun-related homicides during this period. There have been 10 aggravated assaults involving firearms, with eight arrests made. Over the last six months, the department achieved a 100% arrest rate in aggravated assault cases.

Police Chief John Doe emphasized their commitment, stating, “If you choose to use a firearm to commit a crime in our city, we will find you, and you will be arrested.” The department shared mugshots of several individuals arrested for gun-related violence in the past year, underscoring their ongoing efforts to combat gun crime.

Officials added that both victims and law enforcement do not forget those involved in gun-related offenses, signaling their continued focus on public safety and crime prevention.
