The University of Mississippi-Tupelo hosted the “Beyond Duty, the Heart of Everyday Care” child welfare conference on Thursday. The event featured speakers Dr. George Ashley and Cameile Henry from Strengthen Hands.
Social work students from Ole Miss Tupelo, Desoto, and Oxford campuses, as well as Mississippi State and Jackson State, attended the event. Organizers expressed optimism about the future of social work in Mississippi.
The event concluded with a lunch provided by Whimsy on Wheels, which was well received by attendees.
