Tupelo man charged with vehicle burglaries after police respond to suspicious person

Police responded to Ingram Drive on Aug. 29 after reports of a person looking into vehicles. Officers arrived to find an individual matching the description — dressed in all black.

The suspect was detained and found in possession of drug paraphernalia and a large sum of U.S. currency, according to police. Witnesses on Ingram Drive told officers they saw the suspect enter two vehicles.

On Aug. 30, authorities identified the suspect as Tiyosha L. Pratt, 29, of Nettleton. Pratt was charged with two counts of burglary of a vehicle. A judge ordered Pratt held without bond, as he was already out on bond for a previous felony charge.

The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, police said.
