Woman arrested on felony shoplifting charge at Tupelo Walmart

Police responded to a shoplifting report at Walmart on North Gloster Street on Aug. 12, according to officers. Store employees told officers that two individuals stole multiple items from the store.

Following an investigation, authorities arrested Ashley Evans, 24, of Starkville, on Sept. 3 and charged her with felony shoplifting, police said. The next day, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Evans to be held on a $5,000 bond.

The case is scheduled to be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, authorities said.
