Auditions for the youth production of ‘Madagascar Jr.’ are scheduled for Oct. 4 and 5 at the Link Centre Reception Hall in Tupelo. The musical, based on the DreamWorks animated film, features characters such as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo, and the penguins.
Auditions are open to children ages 7 to 18. On Oct. 4, auditions will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and on Oct. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to organizers. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes suitable for dance. No preparation is required in advance.
Due to limited space, only one adult per child is permitted at the audition. For additional information or questions, organizers recommend contacting Brittany Hopkins at britt872006@yahoo.com.
‘Madagascar Jr.’ follows the characters as they escape from their zoo home in Central Park and find themselves on a wild adventure in Madagascar, according to producers.
