Hometown Eagles Defeat Resurrection Christian in Game One of 1A Championship Series

The TCPS Eagles defeated Resurrection Christian Eagles 5-2 in the first game of the 1A Baseball State Championship Series at Trustmark Park on Tuesday.

TCPS got things started early with an RBI triple by Noah Foster headlining a three-run first.

However, Resurrection fought back, scoring a run in the third and fourth innings to cut the lead down to 3-2.

Tupelo Christian was ready to respond though with two runs in the sixth to add some insurance and extend the lead back to 5-2.

After Daniel Reddout’s starting performance, Cooper Davis slammed the door shut with a great seventh-inning save to secure the 5-2 game one win.

Game two is set for Thursday at 1 p.m.
