Authorities in Tupelo have arrested a man on charges of aggravated domestic violence and felony child abuse. The arrest follows an incident reported in late June involving a woman and her child.
On June 27, officers with the Tupelo Police Department responded to a call at the North Mississippi Medical Center Emergency Room, where the victim reported she and her child had been assaulted at Longhorn Steakhouse on North Gloster Street. The victim identified her assailant as her current partner.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Ronnie L. Brown Jr., 33, of Amory, on July 30. He was charged with one count of aggravated domestic violence and one count of felony child abuse. A Tupelo Municipal Court judge ordered Brown held on a $70,000 bond. The charges are to be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, authorities said.
