On Friday, Doug Johnson was announced as the newest executive director of the BancorpSouth Arena & Conference Center in Tupelo.
Johnson comes from multiple years of experience in the entertainment industry in Wisconsin, including managing events for the Wisconsin Center District in Milwaukee.
Previous executive director Todd Hunt departed the role by retirement earlier this year.
The BancorpSouth arena has housed concerts, sporting events, graduations, ice skating, and a presidential rally for Donald Trump.
A $15.2 million expansion is scheduled to be completed in 2021.
