Tupelo man arrested on domestic violence and sexual battery charges

Tupelo police arrested Marcus Terrell Allen, 42, of Houlka, on charges related to domestic violence and sexual battery. The arrest followed an investigation into an assault reported on July 11, according to police.

Detectives identified Allen as the suspect during their investigation. Warrants were issued for his arrest on charges of attempted aggravated domestic violence and attempted sexual battery.

Allen was located by officers on Aug. 2 and taken into custody without incident. He made an initial court appearance on Aug. 3 before Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen, who ordered him held without bond.

The charges against Allen will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further proceedings, police said.
