Dance Like the Stars raises over $250,000 for Boys and Girls Club
The 15th annual “Dance Like The Stars” raised over $259,000 for Boys and Girls Club of North Mississippi this year!
Seven celebrities from cities with Boys and Girls Clubs came together and committed to take at least 25 one hour dance lessons with a professional instructor from the Dance Studio of Tupelo. Each person also committed to raising funds for their cities’ Clubs.
Dance styles included an array of tango, swing, cha-cha and all other ballroom styles. For the first time, the event was held in virtual format, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A small number of spectators were in the arena while “Dancing Like The Stars” was broadcast live on Facebook.
Awards were given in three categories; Judges Choice, the first ever People’s Choice Award, based on online voting, and the Grand Champion, which goes to the celebrity raising the most money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi.
First Place Judges Choice winner was Keri McMillin. The winner of the Peoples’ Choice title was Kimberley Langley, and the winner of the Grand Champion title for raising the most money, was Lisa Settlemires of Ripley, MS.
The fundraiser helps Boys and Girls clubs in Tupelo, New Albany, Ripley and Oxford provide services for thousands of children during school and summertime.Chat Conversation EndType a message…
