Tupelo man charged with commercial burglary after police arrest
Authorities responded to a report of a commercial burglary at Rayburn & Farris, 539 N. Green Street, on July 24. Officers arrived around 8:49 p.m. and saw a suspect attempting to flee the scene.
Police detained the suspect without incident. After an investigation, officers identified the suspect as Preston Stokes, 55, of Tupelo.
Stokes was charged with burglary of a commercial building. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set his bond at $5,000. The charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, according to police reports.
